Rachel Kanowski announced that the retaining wall at Acres of Hope is well underway, thanks to David Gibson and Jeff Ambrosia’s facilitation. We’re also well on our way with the mural, thanks to David for the projector.  Please visit the sign-up sheet for April 23rd, we need lots of help on that day!  Bring your sons, daughters, neighbors, etc to help out.  You can sign up with this link!
Rotary District Conference
The Rotary District Conference can be attended virtually for $25 for the weekend of April 30th to tap into any of the weekend programs.  This is such a deal, people should consider participating to learn more about Rotary and what District 5190 has been doing.

New Member self-introduction - John Fink
John is originally from New York City, but settled in Sunnyvale.  He met his wife, Jennifer there.  He was ushered into Rotary in the early 2000 and he is proud to have been a 3rd generation president. The three most important things in his life are Rotary, Family, and the Giants.  He loves to cook and looks forward to sharing that hobby with our club.  His wife is also a Rotarian, but she has not decided if she is going to transfer her membership or not.  She’ll come and visit our club next week.  John is very excited about his future with this club and this community.
Geoff Davis - Rotarian of the Month for March
Geoff was our Rotarian of the Month for March with his very generous donation to The Ukrainian Relief Fund and for his recent agreement to serve as our club's Youth Protection Officer as we roll out our new protocols in an effort to ensure the safety and protection of all of our Rotarians and particularly those that are working with our many youth programs.  Thank you Geoff for being a fantastic Rotarian!

Today's Program - John Greene

John Green is District 5190’s Youth Protection Coordinator.  He has spent 20 plus years with Rotary and the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.  John explained the new Youth Protection Plan for our district and announced that The Rotary Club of Auburn will serve as a pilot club for rolling this program out for our district.  RYE, REGL, Interact, scholarships, music awards, etc. will all be included in this plan.  The goal is to have every Rotarian complete the on-line training module.  Some Rotarians that are more closely working with the youth will be required to complete the application/interview as well.  Those Rotarians that are the most involved with youth, particularly with overnight access such as RYLA, REGL and RYE are required to complete FBI background checks.
