Our club will be dark for the next 2 weeks; the next meeting will be on January 7, 2025.

Christmas Raffle: President Carolyn baked a gingerbread house: chocolate Kahlua cake in the form of a house. Winner: Lori McIntosh

Board Meeting: approved the membership of Brenda Pollacci. Background in Event Planning

Review of what our club has done in 2024: inducted 6 new members into our club, plus 1 more today; 23 members highlighted in 2 truths and a lie; initiated the passport program; recycled film plastic (more than 1,000 lbs), earning a bench at the new pickle ball courts; e-waste and lithium batteries recycling day (Geoff Davis coordinated); helped to finish the mosaic sign for the (?) Park Preserve; cooked for the Gathering Inn many times; held 3 blood drives; successful food drive for the Interfaith Food Closet; had a coat drive for the Assistance League; held the annual community BBQ with great fund raising; recently built beds for the Gathering Inn; put on Christmas dinner with gifts for the children at Stand Up Placer; picked 1300 pounds of mandarins benefiting 4H; started a new Rotary club: Auburn Rotaract of the Confluence with about 20 members already. Fellowship Activities: Salsa competition; Symphony in the Park, hiked at Serene Lakes and other places; planned a train trip in January with 35 of our members; planned a progressive dinner; had a Fireside Chat; Placer County elections tour; Friday fellowship at the Booker's; gathered for World Polio Day; we ate crickets; partied at Mike Wilson's for Halloween; made tamales at the Ambrosia's; held a fun Christmas Party.

Chris Vaughn – our club members assembled 35 bed units at the Gathering Inn; 4-club multi club grant.

Catherine McGregor – recap of Stand Up Placer Christmas party. Thanked Rotary members for providing the children's gifts.

Geoff Davis – Employee/Employer of the Year deadline is December 31st for nominations. So far have 2, but we need more. Get a brief summary to Geoff as quickly as possible.

Bob Haydon – invited Paul Ross to the podium. Honoring Paul with a Paul Harris Fellow award, thanking Paul for his service to our community and to Rotary. Paul recognized his wife, Suzanne, for her community involvement: member of the Assistance League. Assistance League has thrift shop that Suzanne helped to start 35 years ago. This year surpassed $350,000 in revenue.

Bridget Powers – February 28th will be annual Rotary ski day. For skiers, a group is going to Mammoth the last weekend in April. Details later.

Betty Bennett – Bill Johnston's wife Judy made Betty a gorgeous tea box that she would not let Betty pay for. Betty tried to give Judy $100 to give to the charity of her choice, but Judy said to give the money to Rotary. Betty presented a $100 check toward Bill Johnston's next Paul Harris.

Bart O'Brien – announced the Colfax choir arrival for today's program. Water pitchers passed around for donations to the choir: $700+ was collected.

Raffle:

$880 today with only 10 marbles left. Lori McIntosh did not select the black marble.

Program:

Tom Wilkinson has been bringing the Colfax High choir to our Rotary Club for nearly 30 years.
