Announcements:

John Donlevy - Barbecue Chair.  He will be doing a version of the NFL Draft to draft more members to help with the Rotary Barbecue. WE NEED EVERYONE AND THEIR NEIGHBOR TO HELP.  Remember this is a fundraiser to raise money for all that we do in the community.  Please sign up soon.

President Bob thanked all the cowboys who participated in today's theme.  There will be another theme-based event after the barbecue based on the "Revenge of the Nerds". Date TBD

Steve Grundmeier - Blood Drive tomorrow: September 20th.  Please sign up, 10-1:30 Canyon View Community Center.

Nancy Bender thanked all the members for their donations to the Rotary raffle and auction.  She asked that you bring your donations in to the next club meeting.  VERY  IMPORTANT.  Also, if anyone else wants to contribute toward the raffle or auction, please let Nancy or Kim know ASAP.

PATTY PARK announced that she has more Barbecue Tickets if you need any.
PETER KONRAD announced that he and Steve Grundmeier, Lori McIntosh, and Bill Radakovitz manned the hole sponsored by Auburn Rotary for the 1st Beautiful Minds Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Sunday at the Ridge.  They spoke to those who came through about Rotary and collected $300 for a golf challenge.  Also, Monique, Dan, a friend of Dan's and his wife, May-Li played the course.  The friend of Dan's donated $1000.  They collected $1300 total for the Rotary Club.  Great job!!

JEFF AMBROSIA - announced that we met our goal of every Rotarian, Every Year donation to the Rotary Foundation of $25 each was met last year due to donations from all members including those who donated towards those who couldn't. Because we did meet that goal, our club received another $1000 towards our Community Grant without requiring matching funds. We are looking to start early to have each of us donate at least $25.00 per Rotarian.  One can donate through Venmo to Steve Galyardt with memo stating that it is for the Foundation. As Al suggested, you can also donate when you send in your Rotary Renewal paperwork.  There is a line for that at the bottom of the form.  Jeff also advised that any donations made to Polio Plus do not count towards this goal unfortunately.

Brandee also pointed out that those who are concerned that the money donated doesn't go into our community, need not be.  We have received from Rotary $9,000 towards our multi-club project $9,000.

BOB SANTIN announced that the Rotary Raft Trip was successful and if you want to get wet, you can be sure of it if you are in a raft with Jon Stefani.  They raised $1000 for Polio Plus.  Everyone is looking forward to going next year with their friends.

LINDA MAEDING announced that fellow member, Barry Stigers, is in his last days.  We need several things to help him and his girlfriend, Maggie, with taking care of Barry in his last days.  We need someone who can either fix Maggie's washer or help move the washer and dryer that is at Barry's home at Rock Creek Mobile Home Park to Maggie's house in Lincoln.  Then remove the washer and dryer she has there and replace it with  Barry's.  Then take the washer and dryer to the dump.  Or if someone could fix her washer.  Barry is living at her house for her remaining days.  Also those who can stay with Barry for a couple of hours when Maggie has outside appointments would be appreciated. Let Linda know if you can help with this.  His days are truly numbered according to Hospice.

PRESIDENT BOB announced that this week's shirt goes to Terry Cooney.  Terry decided to keep it and it says, "I'm beginning to believe that for some of the people, the wheels of the bus does not go round and round".

HAPPY/SAD BUCKS:   Geoff Davis suggested that our President, in all his wisdom, had western day on a very hot day and maybe should have had it as speedo day.  He gave $5.  Al had $2 happy bucks; Kathryn had some happy bucks that his dad and friends would come over and sing that Song "Ghost Riders In the Sky" (President Bob played the song at the beginning of the meeting) under her window at 2 in the morning.  Good memory. Ron Martinez had $10 happy bucks that long time member, Vic Gonella, was back for a visit.  Bill Radakovitz had happy bucks because his son just celebrated his 60th birthday.  He had sad bucks because he has gone through 3 washer machines due to mice.  He stopped the problem with an exterminator.   Kim suggested he put shavings of Irish Spring soap to deter the mice.  I am here to say that it really works.

Brian Mishler awarded Wildest Cowboy award by President Bob.  Brian snapped a mean whip.  Everyone was happy to see that Larry Hardy was back as he deals with a very serious bout of shingles.

Pam  Frazier was brought into the club by Past President, Bob Santin, as our newest member of the club.  Patty Park, Membership Chair helped with the installation.

He shared that once you get to know each other, you start to trust each other better which allows one to grow.
