John Donlevy & Gina Acia– Encouraged everyone to RSVP for attending the Branches of the Carnegie Reception held on June 20th at the Carnegie Library Garden at 175 Almond St, Auburn from 4:30 - 6 PM. This is to show their appreciation for all Rotary did on refurbishing the library. You can RSVP 916 412 5791 by the 17th or let Gina know. It will be a fun time.
President Rod – His last Board Meeting is next Tuesday at 7 AM at his office at Plumas Bank at 11641 Blocker Drive, Suite 140(second floor). All are invited to attend.
Happy/Sad Bucks:
Gary Ransom - spoke about some property he bought 4 years ago in Washington. It is about 22 miles from Vancouver. It's on a peninsula and he will be spending more time there in the summer. He would love to have us visit him up there. Sounds like a fun visit.
Kim McClintock – Happy Bucks of $20 for her son and daughter in law celebrating their 20th anniversary.
Preston Marx - Happy bucks for the wonderful procession to celebrate Jackie Weston today and for his son who was able to go to Washington DC with his 8th grade class.
Carolyn Metzker – Shared how grateful she was to have the opportunity to go to the Rotary International Convention in Singapore. She said that the city was beautiful and fun. She met a lot of great Rotarians. The Red Hot Chili Bagpipers played. They played so well that her phone blew up so she couldn't share their wonderful performance with us.
Bart Ruud - had some Happy Bucks remembering Earl Weaver who would have been 118 years old on May 31st. Bart shared how Earl would say that there were different rows of recognition in a room such as the A row, etc. Bart pointed out that his table was in the A row. Rodney asked what "A" stood for. {Use your imagination}
Phil Booker - had Happy Bucks to celebrate taking care of their 6-month-old granddaughter for 4 days with no help from the parents as they were mountain bike camping. He and his wife had a great time.
Geoff Davis - Happy Bucks as Bart Ruud got him an extra ticket for the Celebration at the State Theatre. When he called Colleen Sands at the Théâtre to say what he was doing. Colleen just replied that it was Bart, and you just know that what he says, goes.
Gina Acia - had Happy Bucks as she was able to speak to her son today before he goes to serve in Romania. He found out that there are a great of restrictions there which would make it difficult to travel in his free time. When he gets back, he will be transferred to Washington State. Thank you for your son's service to our country

Program:
Steve Grundmeier introduced our guest speakers Andrew Ross and Kimberly Keck Tilman from Placer Sheriff's Activities League(PSAL). They help with a program called PSAL Kids. It is where they take kids in the community camping, hiking, and other activities so that they can get away from Social Media and look at law enforcement officers as friends and not be afraid of them.
John was born and raised in Placer county.
Attended elementary – high school in Rocklin.
Graduated from Sac State in 2010
Worked as a Game Warden for California Fish and Game 2013-2017. He was mainly assigned to commercial fisheries enforcement.
Lateraled to Placer County Sheriff’s Office in 2017
Since 2017, he has been assigned to:
Corrections, Patrol, Marine Patrol, Community Services Unit, and the Bomb Squad.
He has been working as the youth and community outreach deputy for a little over 2 years now.
With this assignment, he has been made the Executive director of the Placer Sheriff’s Activities Leagues.
Kimberly grew-up in Placer County. She attended Colfax High School, earned her undergraduate degree at UC Davis, and her graduate degree at University of San Francisco. She is a Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Brainspotting Practitioner who has focused her practice on providing trauma therapy. She volunteers full-time for the Placer County Sheriff’s Office – specifically the Placer Sheriff’s Activities League. She is passionate about helping our youth build esteem, self-efficacy, and resilience. And it brings her tremendous joy to engage in all sorts of fun adventures with the ‘PSAL Kids’!
They shared how the kids enthusiastically sign up for every activity. They average about 30 kids per activity. They found that a lot of them don't know how to swim, so they got swimming lessons for them. Most of the kids are from the Greens. One kid didn't know how to tie his shoelaces, so they are able to help them on a variety of levels.
They are working from a Grant they received and hope to continue this successful program after the Grant runs out of funds. They were able to get tents, backpacks, shoes and hats fro all the participants.
Editor's note: I apologize that this is so late, but I got a rotten summer flu starting Wednesday night. I am slowly getting better. Thank you for allowing me to help with these bulletins the last two years. I highly encourage anyone interested in occasionally helping with the writing of these bulletins, to contact Nancy Nittler.
