President Rodney recognized Kim McClintock, here at meeting for 1st time in quite awhile. Kim is still undergoing chemotherapy. Kim told the group she so appreciated the support  she felt from her Rotary family while she was under treatment, and is thankful for Rotary being there for her when she needed it!
 
 
BREWFEST  - Jeff Ambrosia with and update. First, Jeff recognized and Thanked the Brewfest committee members and volunteers. 
We had a great time despite the rain, what with beer, live music and great company. 
We need a new Brewfest coordinator for next year, as Jeff is stepping down after this year. 
Or Jeff encouraged someone with an alternative idea for a Spring Fundraiser for our club to get creative and possibly reinvent our Spring Fundraiser.
 
Fun Committee – Al Lombardo, Peter Konrad, and Linda Maeding – Join us this Friday, May 12 for our trip to the SACRAMENTO RAILROAD MUSEUM, with a free tour of the museum by our own Helen Ornelas. 
Meet at 8:30 in the parking lot behind Raley’s. Peter will be driving the Konrad bus, sign up  for a seat, and suggested donation for busride is $10.
The Museum Tour will be followed by a great lunch on the river. And bonus you can ride the train museum train!
 
Eric Chung of Sunset Rotary – Thanks Auburn Rotary Club for all you’ve given to our community. FAM FEST 2023/Food, Art, Music, is Saturday, June 10 ,  3 to 7 pm.  
All Community Fund Raiser held at Auburn Garden Theater, 350 Nevada Street, next to the Library.
We need volunteers!
Event happening at Auburn Garden Theater next to library. Includes food, art, musicyou’re your entertainment. This event will raise funds for The Senior Center and includes Live Music from Local Winds and Jazz Bands.

Patty Park  - Rotary 101 – This is for newer Rotarians and veteran members are invited to Ashford Park in Auburn on Sat  13 May at 12:00pm.  We will have conversations about many aspects of our club. Please bring a lunch, a chair and a smile.
 
ROTARY FOUNDATION DINNER will be held on May 23 at Tap and Vine Restaurant starting at 5:30. The annual Foundation Dinner will include all Auburn clubs. $55 per person. 
The speaker will be the dynamic and inspiring Rotarian, Motorcycle Bob.
 
Liza Stefani – ROTARY OUTSTANDING TEACHER AND STUDENT AWARDS is May 18 at 6 pm at Auburn Veterans Hall. 
Gather with us as we celebrate Outstanding Students and Teachers from our 17 local High Schools, Elementary Schools and Adult School. Refreshments will be served.We hope to see you there!
 
Liza Stefani – NEW MEMBERS WE NEED YOU FOR PLANNING OUR END OF YEAR MEETING! – The last meeting of Auburn Rotary for the fiscal year is the last June meeting. This meeting is always run by our new club members. 
New members, please attend the planning meeting on Friday, May 12 at 6:15 pm at Ponderosa Cider to help us put together a fun and informative meeting!
 
 
Bill Radakovitz – YARD SALE to benefit the three Auburn Area Rotary Clubs. Reach out to Bill if you have stuff to donate for the yard sale. The sale will run all weekend, beginning on Friday.
 
Dennis Bennett – You are invited to a Reception for our AUBURN ROTARY FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS Max and Lili, graduating from Placer High School.
It has been a blast having Max and Lili as our inbound exchange students! 
It is hard to believe their exchange is almost up. 
The Reception is at the Bennett’s house Saturday, May 27 from Noon to 2 pm.

Steve Grundmeier – ROTARY BLOOD DRIVE will be held  Wednesday, May 17 from 10 am to 1:30 pm.  Located at Canyon View Community Center, 471 Maidu Dr.

Prep Day – This Saturday, May 13, we need a few more volunteers to  prep for painting, work happens from 10 to 12.
Old House Work Day – Saturday, May 20 8 am to 1 pm. 3205 Brennan’s Road in Loomis.
This year's home is owned by a 79 year old widow who lives by herself on a fixed income and has no immediate family in the area. She was literally brought to tears when she heard we would be helping her. We will be helping her by doing minor clean up, painting her house and removing a fallen tree that fell this past winter.
This Old House Day, we paint the house and cut up a large tree. We need volunteers, the more people, the faster our project goes. This is a great project, you’ll have fun, bring your family and your paintbrushes. 
 
Dan Gustafson – DEMOTION PARTY FOR ROD BORGES; Friday, June 16 at 5:30 pm, happening at Ceronix, 13350 New Airport Road in Auburn.
 
Brandee Ambrosia – Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY). The concept is everyone in our club contributes at least $25 every year. Our Rotary district has a designation for clubs with 100% member participation at the $25 per year level. 
Currently our club is at 50%  participation, while our sister Auburn Rotary Clubs, Gold Country Rotary and Passport Rotary are both at 100% member participation. 
Our Rotary of Auburn members are all generous, and we know we can get there!

Kahl Muscott – Auburn Recreation Distrcit is Celebrating their 
75th Anniversary with a CARNIVAL! 
Please come out on Saturday, June 17th from 5pm to 10pm at Recreation Park, 123 Recreation Drive.  You will enjoy a Free party at Rec Park with Live Music, Fun carnival games for kids and adults train rides, public swim, bike parade and great food, great craft beer and wine.

Raffle  - Liza carried out the ticket and marble round. After the pot was won last week, the new pot was at $37 when the marble was selected but it was not the black marble.

GUEST SPEAKER – True Tales of the Tevis/100 miles on one horse in one day.
Lori McIntosh was our guest speaker. Lori has a passion for horses and had competed and completed the Tevis Race here in Auburn. 
Lori shared stories of the trail, funny, difficult, heartbreaking and inspiring and Lori wore her Tevis Buckle!
