Touching Thank you letters from RYLA Students (Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening).
President Bob passed around the current batch of Thank you letters from our selected high school students. These students were awarded a scholarship to the Grizzly Creek Ranch camp for a 1 week leadership camp.
All students expressed profound gratitude to Rotary of Auburn Club for the opportunity to participate in the week long, life changing RYLA camp they participated in this past July.

- Amy Austin, $10 Happy; she did both of her feet at same time when it was time for foot surgery. She is now so happy to be up and walking!
- Liza Stephani, Happy; The Placer County Fair is over! Our RYE student bought a pig! Carolyn Metzger sponsored the pig.
- Larry Hardy, Happy. He enjoyed President Bob’s opening song by Chubby Checkers/Twist Again. Larry is also loved a part of the TOTD that reminded him of his daughter Laura, who has spent time with the Dali Lama.
- Bart Rudd, Happy. The Old Auburn Post Office closed recently at least temporarily. This Post Office is the oldest one west of Mississippi, open since 1870. There is a community effort afoot to reopen the post office and Bart feels confident it may work. The post office brings value to local merchants, the orphanage, and many others in the area. The burden of losing their PO Boxes and having to change addresses and the resulting time and cost of that is another consideration. Bridget Powers spoke too about The Meddlers is aware of the situation and predicts a lot of community support for reopening the post office. You can help by writing to your supervisor and to the Old Town Business Association.
- Bob Hayden, Happy. $5 Connie and I broke ground for a new home, giving our house to kids and moving into a smaller place.

Dr. Binus – Beautiful Minds Mental Health Clinic
A Leader is someone who expresses his vision and inspires other people to follow. Dr. Binus runs a wholistic treatment program in our community and is supported by many in our town including Don Whitaker.
Dr. Binus believes in whole person care. His goal is to understand and address the emotional, physical, and spiritual factors that influence each patient’s well-being.
Dr. Binus serves as the clinical director of Beautiful Minds Medical. He provides outpatient psychiatry and oversees the Intensive Outpatient Program. He’s also on the medical staff at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, and a clinical instructor for Loma Linda University.
