Fun Committee strikes again!
Hike with “The Mayor” Sandy Amara
Join us on Saturday, October 22nd for an enjoyable 3.0 mile hike on the Quarry Hiking Trail that begins just past the American River Confluence and will take us on a picturesque hike along the middle fork as it parallels Highway 49. The terrain is mostly flat with relatively easy walkability. There are many interesting things to see and experience along the way.
Auburn’s Mayor Sandy Amara and Auburn Rotary’s own Docent Gary Ransom will be leading and guiding us along our hike and imparting their knowledge of the trail and the history of the area. Mayor Amara has been hiking the Canyon for years and is very knowledgeable about the area. The same goes for Gary Ransom. This hike should be especially worthwhile.
We plan to congregate at Auburn City Hall around 8:30 AM. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind City Hall. Mayor Amara is making arrangements with the City for a bus to transport us to the trailhead and to return us back to City Hall once our hike is completed. The schedule will be for the bus to depart City Hall at 9:00 AM, drop us off at the trailhead, and will pick us up at 11:30 AM to return us to City Hall.
WE DEFINITELY NEED A HEAD COUNT OF ALL WHO ARE COMING SO WE KNOW IF AN ADDITIONAL BUS IS NEEDED.
After the hike we plan to gather for an enjoyable lunch and a relaxing time as we continue our fellowship.
WE WILL ALSO NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY WILL BE JOINING THE LUNCH SO THAT APPROPRIATE ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE MADE. PLEASE LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS THE NUMBER ATTENDING LUNCH.
If you have any difficulties signing up with the Club Runner link below, call or email me directly. Looking forward to hearing from you.
The Fun Committee Rocks!!!
