About Auburn Rotary's Scholarship Program: From 2004 through 2023, our club has awarded 192 scholarships totalling $365,800 and averaging around $2,000 per scholarship.

Today 8 scholarships. First half of each award will be given upon registration for Fall term; Second half in January after providing evidence of continuing enrollment.
Career Technology Award: 2 year college, vocational or trade school. Recipient is Paloma Delgadillo. Member of Leo's club. Volnteered in Mountain Mandarin Festival, Boys and Girls Club. Her mother was inspirational to her. Honors and AP classes. Excels in auto services and art; $3,000 award.
Presidential Scholarship: person who has excelled in life despite personal hardships. Recipient is Allyson Barpal. Current president of Interact Club. Participated in Red Sand project, world relief school supply drive, homeless shelter necessity item drive among others. Attended 2022 RYLA camp. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 15. Essay writer of the year. Wants to major in biology and do something in the medical field. Will be attending UC Santa Cruz. $3,00 award.
Steve and Rose Brown Professional Educator Award: student who has challenged themselves in high level classes like AP and Honors and learned how to persevere to overcome obstacles. Recipient is Rachel Schrock. Has participated in several activities in her high school career: Clean Up Fire Fundraiser, escorted veterans in the annual Veterans Day Parade. Has received the Scholar award and the all- American Cheerleading award. Teachers assistant, 1st grade classroom at Bowman Charter School. Works with many age groups at Auburn Gymnastics. Cheerleader at Placer High. Will attend San Jose State as a student in the accelerated teaching program. $3,000 award.
Steven A. Snyder Academic Award: A student who has excelled in life despite personal hardships and challenges to achieve their goals. Recipient is Marissa Gill. Plans to major in environmental engineering and minor in political science. Is in Interact Club through which she has participated in the world refugee supply drive, community BBQ, Sutter Christmas Fair, Rock Creek Craft Fair, Red Sand project. Interact president in 2023, 2023 Girls State delegate, REGAL counselor. 2022 RYLA graduate. $3,000 award.
Steven A. Snyder Academic Award: Madelynn LeBrecque. Plans to major in chemistry or astronomy. Wants to become a researcher for a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) company. High school activities include Key Club, Block P Society, assistant basketball coach. Spring of junior year, tested positive for COVID and had to isoloate. Teacher helped her get accomodations. Has had challenges due to chronic illnesses. Will be going to University of Diego. $2,000 award.
Steve A. Snyder Academic Award: Lauchlan Ryan USA Swim Team from age 12-17 years, started Placer High Math Club, published in a book called SMALL BRIGHT THINGS, volunteer swim coach, Placer Swim Team MVP, Placer High Homecoming Prince, Boys State Delegate, Eagle Scout among other things. Brain tumor surgically remmoved at age 7 affecting his visual acuity and color vision. Will attend UC Berkeley, studying economics. Leather worker as a hobby. $2,000 award.
Virgil R.Traynor DVM Memorial Animal Science Award: top academic pre-vet medicine majors who have challenged themselves in high level classes. Recipient: Jamie Ranlett. Swim team, Environmental Club Secretary, National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist, National African American Recognition Award, Math team, Sierra Nevada swim scholarship, swim instructor. Lifeguard at Sierra pool. Small animal medicine and exotic animal interest, likes spiders and reptiles. Seeking bachelors degree in zoology. $3,000 award.
Virgil R. Traynor DVM Memorial Animal Science Award: Hannah Summers. Day of the Dead class, Freshman Orientation, elementary school buddy, Interact Club 2021 to the present. Captain and choreographer of the Placer High dance team. CSF member, multiple awards. Dance group dances at convalescent homes. Lifeguard at ARD SLO pre-veterinary track. $3,000 award.
