The Rotary Club of
Auburn, Inc.

August 30, 2022

Fun Committee – Saturday, 4:30 – 7:30 – Vina Costellano to hear the band, Auburn Ravine Revival and have some wine at the pond.

Brandee Ambrosia reported that the dinner at the Gathering Inn was a resounding success.  Linda, John, and Peter took the lead and many other hands helped out.  We have already reached out to the Gathering inn to schedule this every quarter.  So, for those volunteers that got turned away, we had it covered this week, but we look forward to you volunteering at the next opportunity.

The BBQ is still in need of about 40 volunteer spots to be filled.  If you have already committed to a spot, you can commit to a second.  We need your help.

Sherri Gilbert – the Gold Country Fair needs parking help next weekend, which will also be a fundraiser for our club with $44 per person that volunteers.  Contact her to sign up.

Mike Wilson – He shared posters about the 125 Hillmen Foundation Community Celebration at the end of September.  It is a big fundraiser for the Hillmen Foundation of which does a ton for Placer High School and the local community.  He encouraged people to attend.

Thanks to Bill Radakovitz and Larry Rolufs for volunteering to take the REGL kids up to their camp in a couple of weeks.

Happy/Sad Bucks:
Dan Gustavson– happy about his wife and daughter’s success with Colfax golf.

Phil Booker - finally got scheduled for a knee replacement, but with COVID protocols it got postponed, so now he gets to help with the BBQ.

Al Lombardo – happy about the generous and nostalgic gift of a vintage Maytag washing machine from Peter Konrad.  Peter found it at an estate sale and it reminds Al of his childhood.

Gary Ransom – happy about a run/walk that he participated in this weekend and he came in first place in his age group.  Sadly he was the only one in his age group.

Peter Konrad – thank you for all that went into the Gathering Inn event last night.  John did a fabulous job buying and preparing most of the food.  Linda did a great job organizing the volunteers, and Peter appreciated how quickly this idea came to fruition after being suggested just a short while ago.

Bob Hayden – Happy to have celebrated Don and Sherri’s 50th anniversary.  He recalled 50 Plus years ago asking Don if he wanted to go to a picnic with Connie’s sister, Sherry and Don said yes, to now have been married over 50 years.

Mike Medlin – This 75 year old grandpa is worn out taking care of his grandkids while his parents are at Burning Man.

Cathy Bianchi – sad bucks that she is happy to see everyone, but next week she will be moving from the foothills to the desert.

Jeff Ambrosia got a good deed fine for being found to be 48th on the list for the fastest growing companies in the area.  He spun for a $20 fine
