BLOOD DRIVE:
July 20 at the Rose Room, Auburn City Hall. Please note that we have changed the venue to the Rose Room at City Hall. At our last Blood Drive, we only had 17 donations. There is a possibility that we will no longer be able to participate in this incredibly vital program if we are unable to increase the number of donors. I encourage you to share the July 20 date with at least one other person or community program. I have posters to hang around town. PLEASE SIGN UP BY logging onto: Donors.Vitalant.org and Enter Blood Drive Code SMFT156. Thank you.
President Rod followed up on his end of year recognitions:
Dan Gustavson was hugely thanked for his work with Club Service: the demotion party was off the charts, great job with Fun Committee and managing all of our club duties.
Jeff Ambrosia was instrumental with meeting all of our goals for the Foundation Jeff encouraged (insisted) that we set a $20,000 goal and we met that goal. Overall, very successful!
Dennis Bennett - did a wonderful job of leading and corralling all of our youth service projects. Our service to youth is probably our most impactful avenue and Dennis ensured that all were a success... scholarships, Interact, RYE, RYLA, etc.
Linda Maeding - she reminded us to reach out to Rotarians if you have not seen them in a while.
Fun Committee Al Lombardo and Bill Radakovitz, we'll be having an Axe Throwing event July 13, look for an email to sign up.
Chris Vaughn – gave an update on Barry Steigers, who is battling advanced Pancreatic Cancer and will be starting aggressive treatment ASAP. Keep him in your prayers.
BrandeeAmbrosia – look for an email about participating in brainstorming meeting to develop a plan for next year's community service.
HAPPY AND SAD BUCKS:
Betty Bennett – happy for having the privilege of spending two days and one night in Yosemite with Max and Jonas
Liza Stefani – 4H at the Placer County Fair earned lots of awards this past weekend for a very successful show.

Linda Maeding – sad bucks, her daughter and boyfriend have been looking for a house in San Diego
Jeff Ambrosia – sad to be home from a week of spectacular diving in Roatan, Honduras.
Paul Ross – sad to have violated the 4-way test by not admitting that he was not at an assigned table.
Bob Litchfield – he heard that the guy that owns the axe throwing business is missing a leg and an arm.
John Donlevy – he worked for 4 days volunteering at the Western States and he saw fellow Rotarian, Bridget Powers working her tail off in support of her friend, Fabrice from France, who was running in the race.
Rotarian of the Year
Brandee Ambrosia
Brandee was recognized by President Rodney for her work on the board for Community Service; for facilitating many great projects, but mostly for the Community Giving Program that included the entire club to decide our community gifts of over $30,000.
Brandee also puts in a ton of time and effort into RYE, Interact and even our bulletin team. Congratulations, Brandee!
Rod and Bob for the song of the day... they struggled, but looked adorable.
Max Behre - Exchange Student from Germany
Max shared a slide show of photos and a summary of his exchange here in Auburn. Max went to Tahoe, LA, Hawaii, Yosemite, Morro Bay, lots of school events and participated in skiing as well as baseball. Max made lots of friends and loved his time here in the US. He thanked his host families... Phil and Susie Booker, Kelli Chandler and Dan Ziarkowski, and Peter and Danielle Konrad. He also thanked Betty Bennett and Mike Wilson for being his counselor and coordinator for his exchange. He expressed, in his impeccable English, much gratitude to the entire club for supporting his exchange. He will be going home next week, but, but plans to return someday.
