Meeting Opener
Upon calling the last meeting of his highly successful and “fun” presidential year to order, President Kahl continued with a montage of upstart surprises. Jenny Jansen, Peter Konrad, and President Kahl himself read several of his favorite quotes.  Kahl unabashedly shared, “It is such a fine line between stupid and clever.”  This quote was garnered from David Saint Hubbins in This is Spinal Tap, the 1984 American mockumentary film said to be one of the funniest musical comedies ever produced. The film itself was a story about the loud British heavy metal band, Spinal Tap.

Adorned in an Elvis Presley shirt and comic top hat, President Kahl introduced a documentary band of disguised Rotarians Mike Wilson, Cindy Eklund and Mike Holmes who shared, with racous audience participation, British rock band Queen’s 1977 epic song, “We Will Rock You” featuring Wilson leading off with the lyrics,

“Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise
Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday
You got mud on your face, you big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place, singin’

We will rock you
We will rock you…”

Flipping the switch, President Kahl continued with Introductions of:

Visiting Rotarians-
District Governor Tina Spencer-Mulhern
Petaluma Valley Club’s Terry Bryant.

Guests of Rotarians-
Placer County District 5 Supervisor Cindy Gustafson
Molly Burr – local realtor

Weekly Trivia Question-

In presentation of his last Trivia exercise, President Kahl staged three Trivia teams with Bridget Powers, Catherine McGregor and Barry Stigers representing respective yellow, pink and blue teams as they pondered an array of past trivia questions offered in sequence over the past presidential year. The first team to properly answer three trivia questions in the grand finale of trivia would be declared winner. District Governor Tina was an official judge. Barry’s team won.
