Visiting Rotarians:

Stacey Graham, District Governor Elect, visiting from Gold Country Rotary Club

Ally Barpal, President and Jenny Maldonado, Vice President, of Placer Interact

Ally and Jenny shared with the club that they are doing their annual backpack for refugee youth.  Last year was very successful due to the community participation for Afghanistan refugees through World Relief Organization.  This year they are doing a collection for Ukrainian Refuges'.  They are looking to collect backpacks, file folders, school supplies and snacks.  They will be collecting the supplies next Tuesday, the 18th, and Wednesday, the 19th, from 4-6 PM at the Placer High School Stadium Parking Lot above the football field.  There are many ways to give, either bring by supplies, give money to Steve Galyardt through Venmo with the stipulation for Interact Project, or give Brandee money at next week's meeting so she can give it to the Interact Club.  They would greatly appreciate you spreading the word to others and are hoping for a great response.

Stacey Graham was our guest speaker, and she shared a wonderful story about a shy REGLE student, Nora, along with 3 other students that she drove to camp in Portola.  She shared how much those who attend are changed for the good like this one student.

She also shared with new members of our club that we are in District 5190 and area 5 and we are going to have a fantastic All Inclusive Rotary Conference on May 17-19th, 2024 at the Grand Sierra in Reno, Nevada.  Registration will begin at the end of April.

Raffle was for $692, but no winners.

Brandee Ambrosia shared that we need host families for our awesome RYE students.  We need a host family for the boy for the spring and for the girl in the winter.  It is only for 2-3 months.  Please ask anyone you know who would be a great host family and let Mike Wilson, Betty Bennett or Brandee know.

4-way test – Is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build good will and improve friendships? Lastly, will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Thought of the day – Paul Galushkin – In this life we all experience moments, sometimes so unique or unusual that we pause and say. Wow...what are the odds that could happen?  And if something like that happens again, maybe we say that is just coincidence.  How many once-in-a-lifetime events do we attribute to simple chance before we believe that perhaps it's something more? At what point do you ask yourself , is it all just luck or have I experienced a miracle? Mike Lindell , CEO of MyPillow company
Happy/Sad Bucks

Steve Grundmeier – Happy to have the help of Steve Snyder for suggesting Stacey as a speaker as the scheduled speaker had a family emergency.  He advised Steve at 4 PM on Monday.

Brandee Ambrosia – Happy bucks that her mom is doing fine after being in and out of the hospital several times.  Still don't know what is wrong with her, but she is well enough to head for Argentina for a vacation for two weeks.

Drew Garrison gave $20 for the fabulous trip he, his wife and four year old had to the beach.  He apologized that they messed up on their commitment to Rotary.

Geoff Davis geve $20 for the great trip he and his wife had to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to see the great Balloon Fest.

Linda gave a sad buck for the loss of her 72-year-old cousin suddenly.  She encouraged everyone to not take family and friends for granted.
