Sun Safety Education
Placer ranks #5 for melanoma rates
Skin cancer is more common than all cancers combined
If you have skin - you are at risk!
There is no such thing as a "healthy tan"
Keep note of sores that do not heal
Signs of melanoma - know your ABC's - asymmetry, border, color, diameter, evolving
Skin cancer can occur anywhere on the body
Having more than 5 sunburns increases your risk of developing melanoma
Sun damage is cumulative - increases with age
Protect your skin - slip, slop, slap, seek, slide
Stay out of sun from 10am to 2pm if possible
Sunscreen 101 - Use Zinc Oxide & Titanium dioxide SPF 30 or higher, water resistant, broad spectrum protection, reapply every 2 hours
Placer County website has great information regarding all forms of cancer
Please scan QR code to fill out survey for Ashley - it would be super helpful!
