Apr. 17, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The Fun Committee has been working on some new fun adventures for our Rotary Club members.
PCWA will be giving our members a tour of the Pump House that is located in the Auburn Canyon along the American River.
The particulars are as follows:
When: Friday April 17
Where: Overlook Park parking lot
855 Pacific Avenue, Auburn
Time : 9:00 am
We will meet and gather at the Overlook Park parking lot. Peter Konrad will take us on his IFC bus to the pump house and return us to the parking lot once the tour has been completed. As usual a contribution for the bus ride will be asked of each rider.
While on the tour the PCWA tour guide provide us with valuable insight into the history and current usage of this facility and the surrounding area. We will be able to take in and enjoy the natural rugged beauty of the American River and Auburn Canyon..
Once our tour is completed we should be back to the parking lot before noon.
Afterwards we can join together for lunch at Old Town Pizza.
Please indicate if you will be going on the tour and if you will be bringing a guest. Also indicate on the signup sheet if you will and your guest will be joining for lunch. I will make reservations Old Town Pizza and will need to provide them with a headcount list of the number of diners.

Join us for an evening of delicious appetizers paired with four exceptional wines from Dora Dain Winery. Pat and Pete Enochs, former chefs and owners of Latitudes Restaurant, have thoughtfully crafted a gourmet menu designed to complement each pour. Dora Dain winemaker Justin will be on hand to pour the wines and share insights into their distinctive character and winemaking industry.

On May 16th we will be having a Rotary Peace Park work day at Auburn City Hall. The scope of work is to sand and refinish the doors on the building. We will also be repairing the awning that will require some roof work and dry rot repair. The work day will begin at 9:00 AM and end around 1:00 PM. Nick Willick and Bridget Powers are in need of 6 volunteers. No experience necessary the work will be easy and you are guaranteed to have a good time. Coffee and donuts provided in the morning. Pay for your own lunch at Old Town Pizza after we are all finished. Call Bridget Powers with any questions. |

Rotary Fellowship Backpacking trip September 11th to 13th.
Come and join your fellow Rotarians for a special fellowship backpacking trip. We will hike to Peter Grubb Hut on September 11th. This is a 1.1 mile hike if you have a 4 wheel Drive or a 4.3 mile hike from the freeway trailhead on I80. We will do our best to get everyone in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I just want those adventurous Rotarians to know that a longer hike is available. On September 12th there are several day hike options. Hike to the top of Castle Peak and then over to Castle Crags. This is the longest hike or you can just do Castle Peak. The other option is to just relax at the camp spot and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. On September 13th we pack up and hike back to the car and head home. If interested please let Bob Dunstan or Bridget Powers know you would like to come along for some fun. If you do not have all the backpacking equipment rest assured Bridget probably has items you can borrow. BEGINNERS Welcome.
