Pursuant to the "Rotary Club of Auburn's bylaws at the Annual meeting on the 2nd Tuesday in November" which is November 11, 2025, we will ask if there are any further nominations. At that time the members will vote.
Congratulations to all for having been selected and thank you to each of you for your willingness to serve our club in a leadership role.
 

Announcements:

John DonlevySaturday 11:00 – 4:00 at the Canyon View Community Center will be the Rotaract’s Pinewood Derby event that our club is sponsoring. He is offering to the fastest Rotarian a $100 donation to the Foundation in that winner’s name.  Come out and enjoy this great event.
 
Nick Willick – we are postponing the gazebo repair project to allow for some engineering to be done by ARD. We’ll come back to that when they are ready.  We are working on another project for October, he’ll let us know when that comes together and we have more information.
 
Jeff Ambrosia – Reiterated about the Pinewood Derby event. There is a vintage car event with the Pinewood Derby and Jeff is entering 4 cars, one is 51 years old, from when he was a kid. If you have one, you should too!  Come on out!
 
Christmas Party is coming up (no date set) but a sign-up sheet will come out and Lori Tompkins sent an email earlier today to recruit a planning committee for this fun celebration.  Please let Lori or Jeff know if you are interested in helping. - Jeff Spoor. 
 
The Spoors are doing a golf tournament in a few weeks and he has a few spots and sponsorships available/. Talk to Jeff if you are interested in learning more.
 
Jesse Petrilla Fireside Chat.  October 17th at his house.  Red Badge members and board members should try to attend, but everyone is welcome.   You can find his address on Club Runner, but is:

Happy and Sad Bucks:

Catherine McGreggor – 6 young men from Confluence High School - $10 happy bucks for their success in building a fence around the school garden. This was the first of what will be an ongoing mentorship program from the trades for these young guys.
 
Bruce Lundberg - Vic Gonella passed away a few days ago.  Several years of health struggles ended in his passing. Vic was a great guy and a fellow, long-term Rotarian. 
 
Liza Stefani – she took a group of kids to the Cow Palace for a livestock judging competition and was extremely impressed, inspired and proud of them! Livestock in California – our area won it all.
 
James Lindsey – happy to be back more regularly moving forward.
 
Dan Gustavson –His daughter’s golf team participated in a couple of significant golf tournaments recently, some with success, others not so much, but she is playing very well.
 
Scott Christenson – all the right teams won and all of the wrong teams lost this weekend with Football.
 
Nancy Nittler - $100 happy bucks to back home after a 4-month travel experience.  Happy to see all of you!
 
Kim McClintock – happy for people covering for her with her Secretarial duties, while she was gone on her trip.
 
Steve Bender - $20 happy about our club’s first-ever book-buddy meeting at Auburn Elementary.  There was a great sense of family and excitement about that future experience with the kids. He was happy to see our club launching this program that his club, Roseville, has been doing for a long time.
 
Brandee Ambrosia - $5 happy bucks for our three members that have had a long-term absence, Nancy, James, and Kim… glad to have them back and she appreciates how their absence and their return reflects the fluidity of our club as people’s lives go on.
 
Steve Bender - the current state of insurance
Stephen Bender, President Nancy's husband, is the retired CEO and current Bender Insurance Solutions Board Chair.  His leadership has taken the agency from $175K to $10.1MM in revenue based on sales of over $120 million.
 
Steve shared his insight on the struggles with insurance in our current market and identified some trends that have led up to our current state, as well as where things are going.
