President Announcements

  • Corona Virus Discussion: The RI President is monitoring the situation and our President and Board are as well. At this time our club will continue to meet. Several members shared their thoughts and Geoff Davis provided information on the current status of the epidemic, the potential risk, and the advice coming from the Director of the Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. As noted in the meeting, attendance is voluntary. Any changes to meetings or activities will be emailed to our members.

  •  President Steve and wife Jane had a nice lunch with Betty and Dennis Bennett in Maui.

  • Do you have an interest in being our club liaison to the Boy Scouts? Please talk with President Steve. Jonathon Rogness was introduced as the new District Executive for BSA. 

  • One Book One Community has many events coming up and at this point they will be held as planned except for those that were scheduled to be held at Placer High School Auditorium. New locations for the panel discussion and evening with the author will be announced here in our bulletin and at the OBOC website: https://auburnoboc.com

  • Linda Maeding: Reminded us that Area 5 Rotary Foundation Dinner will be March 19, 5:30 PM at the Elks Club. $45 per person, please pay Linda now. Patty Park can take your credit card payment at our regular meeting next week.

  • Cindy Eklund: Impressed with the incoming president training (PETS) which was very hands-on. She learned a lot about our Auburn clubs and is excited to apply what she learned to her upcoming term.

Member Announcements/Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Al: Happy for winning a Courthouse picture donated by Nancie R. to Bingo Night. Bill R: Sad for seeing his picture was donated!

  • Cindy: Happy for second granddaughter to be selected for Girls State!

  • Bill/Jenny: Happy for Tennessee family members who were not hit by the tornado. Also happy for their new great-grandson.

  • Linda: Super happy to not have her arm in a cast anymore and for taking care of her new great-grandson. Ask her about why they both ended up in tears!

  • Richard: Happy times celebrating in Las Vegas with grandkids turning 21. Lots of partying and dancing!

  • Vic: Happy for Colfax HS girls basketball team playing in semifinal at home and if they win they go to Golden One Center.

  • Vickie: Happy for a great trip back to Kenya and for her sister being here.

  • Peter: Happy for surviving Sand Mountain's notorious off-road terrain. Only one in their party totaled their vehicle and the medivac needed wasn't for them! Whew!
