Contestants for the Warren Burns Auburn Rotary Music Contest were introduced one by one by Scott Christensen, who masterfully organized and coordinated the event. Warren’s widow, Connie, was in attendance and was surely proud of Warren’s thoughtfulness with the establishment and supportive financial contribution toward this program. The winner of the event, who will receive a special monetary award, will advance to the District contest scheduled for May 20, 2019 in Reno, NV. Winners will be announced next week. All participants will receive a stipend for their participation.
Contestant performances were evaluated by our judges according to several principals: Musical Ability; Musical Sound, Stage Presence, including introduction, performance and departing stage; Musical Selection; and, Musical Empathy. Each contestant was mandated to a three-minute minimum/eight-minute maximum performance.
Our Contestants:
Jenenne Chipman: Piano. Foresthill High School. Has been playing the piano since she was six years of age. She also plays the trumpet.
Hannah Marinelli: French Horn. Placer High School Freshman. Plays in the Concert Band.

Steve Grundmeier , a recent PETS attendee, was ratted out for having left his personal luggage at the host hotel. He has recovered his luggage, no one opted to disclose who exposed Steve for his forgetfulness, but it cost him a courtesy fine of $5 as a reminder that “drinking the cool aid” at PETS might have side effects.
Larry Rolufs offered word that he is attempting to schedule a trap shoot at the Auburn Trap Club on Sunday, June 2, 2019.
As tickets become available, step up because the Brew Fest, under the guidance of Jeff Ambrosia and his committee, will limit ticket sales to 1,000 and the May 4, 2019 event will be a sellout. At least 26 microbreweries will offer their product.
The Rotary Casino Night, according to Peter Konrad, has been postponed to June 15, 2019......in case you missed Tuesday's meeting: we have re-branded the casino night to a bingo night and postponed it to June 15th. It is still at Ceronix at 5:30 pm. It will include food, bingo, and we will have additional games as well as no host bars.

Chloe News
Chloe transitioned from Dan and Mai Li this past week to Christopher and Reese. She was excited to talk about learning to ski with Dan and Mai Li and looking forward to additional days on the slopes with a long snow season. She also spoke of hiking and biking so anyone interested in joining us on the road and trails let Christopher know...many miles to be trekked in the coming months.
On a sad note...Chloe traveled back to Belgium to celebrate the life of her Grandfather who passed away...we expect her return in the coming week.
Stay tuned.
