Linda Maeding – gave an update on Kim McClintock.  She is still in the midst of her chemo treatments and will then move into her radiation.  Feel free to reach out to her and check in.
 
Preston Marx – flyers on the table regarding Feb 17th Meet and Greet of a meet and greet with two queens for the Mardi Gras. This is a unique opportunity and will be a fun event.  Contact Preston about this event and how to attend.  This is being hosted at Rod and Lori Tompkins house with a suggested donation from those that attend. Funds will cover the costs of the gathering with any extra going to a local non-profit.
 
Auburn Rotary Trivia night – Feb 16th at 6:00 PM at Crooked Lane.  Come and participate. Come as early as 4:30 to eat and get fired up about this. Contact Carolyn Metzker if you are interested.
 
Al Lombardo – next week is Valentines Day and we’ll have some fun activities from our Fun Committee.
 
Nick Willick – we are still looking for a house to be a recipient for our “This Is Old House” project.  Someone who is a senior or a disability who is not able to pay for or complete on their own repairs or upkeep on their home.
 
Bridget Powers & Dan Gustavson – 23 people have signed up for the ski trip to Sugar Bowl on March 3rd. There will be two groups going out with group leaders… one for advanced runs and one for intermediate, groomer runs.  Please plan to join in on this wonderful fellowship opportunity.  Lunch will be at noon and the lodge.
 
Nancy Bender – Fireside Chat Feb 22nd 5:30 at the home of Dennis and Betty Bennett’s house.  All members plan to attend.  Bring a beverage and appetizer to share.
 
Ron Martinez and Richard Hall – Harold Weaver Award nominations.  Please send an email to Richard with your nominations.  Ron helped us by giving a review of who Harold Weaver was and why he is the icon for this award. He was a highly educated and achieved success in the academic world of Placer Junior College here in Auburn.  When he retired he served on the board of education for a total of 66 years of service.    He also served 56 years to the Rotary Club of Auburn.  He was a scientist, an environmentalist, a humanitarian, etc.  The Harold Weaver Award was created in 2002 in his name. 
 
Brandee Ambrosia – We will be doing a project at Ashley Dog Park Feb 25th that will include rehabbing a shade structure and painting/staining two others.  We’ll also be replacing 20 trees that were lost in the storms throughout the ARD park system. We'll talk more about this next week.
 
Giving Opportunities – Over the next two weeks we will be giving the money out to the non-profits that we selected. Please plan to attend one or more of them to learn more about their organization and to represent our club.
