Save the Date - Sunday, August 11, 2019 Rotary Rafters Eliminating Polio Raft Trip - South Fork of the American River Again, this year’s Rotary rafting trip is with the commercial rafting company H2O Rafting Guides. Tyler Soule is the owner operator and our host. Being “Born” into a rafting family, Tyler has been rafting all his life and is one of the most recognized “Big Water” Class 5 guides in the industry. All his guides share his rafting passion and are extremely competent and a joy to be with too. We’re running the Class 3 upper ‘Chili Bar’ section of the South Fork American River. This is a busy section of whitewater with many fun rapids including ‘Meat Grinder’ & ‘Trouble Maker’ a popular photo shot spot (above). The $125 cost PP will cover all our expenses and $50 PP will be donated to Rotary’s Polio Plus campaign to eliminate polio from our Earth. The Bill Gates Foundation will double match this amount making it a valued donation unsurpassed anywhere. We will take a snack break on the river then lunch and beverages will be served at the Hennison Park take out. A sign-up sheet and further details will be sent out soon. The ‘Upper Chili Bar’ section timeline will be a much earlier day than last years ‘Lower Gorge’ section, ending in early afternoon. So please start thinking if you want to join in the fun and fellowship on the river. See Bob Santin at bobsantincolfax@gmail.com or 530-637-4007 if you have any questions. |

CAP Radio
Oct. 29, 2019
As host of "Insight" Beth delights in the opportunity to communicate and converse in the region she calls home. People ask her about the differences between television and radio broadcasting; she says she tries to fill in the visuals with language, sounds, voice and imagination. To Beth, being part of the Capital Public Radio team is a privilege, an adventure and a great reason to go to work everyday. Of course, so is the dance as she calls it, with the guests and audience on "Insight." |
