Rotary Fellowship Backpacking trip September 11th to 13th.
Come and join your fellow Rotarians for a special fellowship backpacking trip. We will hike to Peter Grubb Hut on September 11th. This is a 1.1 mile hike if you have a 4 wheel Drive or a 4.3 mile hike from the freeway trailhead on I80. We will do our best to get everyone in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I just want those adventurous Rotarians to know that a longer hike is available. On September 12th there are several day hike options. Hike to the top of Castle Peak and then over to Castle Crags. This is the longest hike or you can just do Castle Peak. The other option is to just relax at the camp spot and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. On September 13th we pack up and hike back to the car and head home. If interested please let Bob Dunstan or Bridget Powers know you would like to come along for some fun. If you do not have all the backpacking equipment rest assured Bridget probably has items you can borrow. BEGINNERS Welcome.
